Level I in Salmon Arm, BC October 15th & 16th 2016
In Zero Gravity Aerial Yoga ™ we use a low-hanging fabric hammock to support the weight of the body. Students explore their maximum stretch quickly and without effort, flipping upside-down with ease, putting zero pressure on the head or neck. The practice develops greater upper body and core stability strength.
Along with intense stretches and deep muscle release, Zero Gravity Aerial Yoga™ classes accentuate a light-hearted side of the Yoga philosophy: which is having fun!
Who Should Attend?
Applicants should be in good physical shape and adhere to a consistent fitness/yoga routine prior to enrolment. Previous teaching experience and a current RYT-200 accreditation is required. My yoga journey began about 5 years ago when the Universe decided it was time to thrust me out of my comfort zone and send me reeling into the great unknown commonly referred to as “change”. I decided to head back to school to work on a degree in nutrition. As my current bar tending job wasn’t fitting very well with my newfound healthy lifestyle I figured I should get a side job doing something more health conscience. I had been doing Bikrim yoga for about a year when I found a varied style “hot” studio and immediately fell in love with Vinyasa flow. I registered for a training for the following summer and was thrilled when my home studio suddenly offered a Hot Yoga specific training 6 months prior to the one I had registered for! Within a week of completing my first 100hr Teacher Training with Alberta Hot Yoga Teacher Training I was hired on and have been teaching and attending trainings ever since! Now with over 600hrs of training I own a beautiful studio in the stunning city of Salmon Arm BC where I teach 2-3 classes daily. In 2014 I found Suzanne and was thrilled to take her training and bring Aerial Yoga all the way from Ontario to Salmon Arm, I was even more ecstatic when Suzanne agreed to come all the way to BC to lead and allow me to co-lead the first Aerial Teacher training. I look forward to taking the reigns on this March training and sharing what I’ve learnt!! I view yoga as an opportunity to come back to our bodies, to reconnect with the awareness of the physical self as well as tapping into the ability to quiet our mental self. I love the way I can feel my body during postures, how alive I feel and how aware I am of each muscle, ligament, bone, and body system, and I get excited when I get to share that with my students! I look forward to continuing my education and sharing what I learn!
